Under500CalGuide_BarHappy 2016! Here at Ronco, healthy eating is on our minds all year… but certainly more so at the beginning of a new year. Every product we develop is done with healthy, delicious food made easy at it’s core. If it’s not healthy and easier for you, we just don’t do it! That’s why I wanted to take the turn of the New Year as an opportunity to start sharing some recipes made with our products that come in at under 500 calories. Plus, they’re based on real, minimally processed ingredients– foods that make us feel good!

IMG_7621I wanted to start with a healthy, filling breakfast (or dinner for all that) made in our Ready Grill that is high in protein, full of nutrition and easy to make! The recipe below is for one serving of our “Steak and Egg Breakfast,” but you can certainly cook up to 4 burgers at a time in the Ready Grill for a full family breakfast!

The thing that I really love about this recipe is the pure simplicity and ease. I come down for coffee in the morning, preheat my Ready Grill for a few minutes while my coffee is brewing, throw a couple pre-made grass-fed burgers in the Ready Grill, set the timer for 15-18 minutes, and finish getting ready while my breakfast is cooking. Fry up an egg and throw it on top with some kale and tomatoes and viola… what a healthy start to the day! Ready to face the world. And at about 382 calories for this filling breakfast, there is still room for a touch of cream in that coffee!


1- 4-ounce store bought preformed burgers (240 calories each)

1 fried egg (90 calories each)

1 Cup of baby Kale (22 calories)

½ cup mixed color grape tomatoes (30 calories)

Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat Ready Grill for 3-5 minutes. Grill burger (season with salt and pepper) in preheated Ready Grill for 12-18 minutes, depending on your desired temperature (12 being towards the medium rare, 18 being well done)
  2. Place burger on a bed of baby kale and top with a fried egg (salt and pepper egg) and serve with tomatoes.
  3. One serving is 382 calories with 9 grams of carbs and 31g of protein.
